Biography: Minerva was born in Scotland, the only child of an aging man and his aging wife. They both died when she was a child, leaving her to be raised by her aunt and uncle. When she left for Hogwarts, she never looked back. She was a dedicated and passionate student, and it was during this time that she became an animagus.

At seventeen, she left Hogwarts and returned to her deceased parents' estate. She lived there alone, reading the expansive library and continuing her studies in Transfiguration on her own. She had little interaction with anyone for years, typically leaving home only for supplies and more books. Once in a while she would do a bit of travelling, and many of the relationships she made during those times are continued via correspondence to this day.

At thirty-one, Minerva returned to Hogwarts, this time as Professor of Transfiguration. She became Head of Gryffindor some years later, and later still she became Deputy Headmistress.

Personality: In general, Minerva is stern, strict, and austere. He has little tolerance for stupidity and foolishness, and puts up with no nonsense in her classes. With her peers and her favored students, she shows a bit of humor, which is both wry and dry. She does have strong emotions, but very rarely exhibits them in public. Contrary to popular opinion, she is very capable of fun, which can be seen especially well after a nip or two of gin.

Sexuality: Minerva is heterosexual and celibate. She sometimes entertains fantasies but they're nothing more than that.

Alignment and Blood-status: Minerva is a pure-blood; the McGonagalls are an ancient Scottish wizarding family. She is the last of the line.

Minerva is as opposed to Voldemort as anyone in the world. The vast majority of her free time is devoted to the Order of the Phoenix, and she will not rest until Voldemort is defeated or she is dead.

Physical Appearance: Minerva is tall and straight-backed, and usually wears a prim expression, her lips pursed and eyebrows raised. Her hair, once dark, is becoming a striking iron-grey. Minerva wears rectangular glasses with thin golden frames. She has a tendency to wear emerald green robes, and almost always has at least a touch of tartan on. She has a fondness for tall, pointed hats.

As a cat, Minerva is a stern-looking silver tabby with rectangular markings around her eyes.

Distinguishing Characteristics: Her no-nonsense attitude, green robes, and tall hats make Minerva easy to spot in any crowd.

Other Notes: Miverva's closest friends are her colleagues at Hogwarts: Albus, Severus, Filius, and Pomona. She is also friendly with several members of the Order.
